Max Woods

Max is just an average fella from a big, Catholic family who likes writing stories and then doodling pictures about them (he also isn't crazy about writing about himself in the third person vernacular). Having graduated high school (being homeschooled for his whole life), he's preparing to meet the world with all of its trolls, dragons, and insurance salespeople. Formerly from Nebraska but raised in Oregon, he now lives in Kansas and hopes to not be picked up by a tornado. He loves graphic design, horror games, and anything with pumpkin in it.

Hello! (reverting to first person now!)

To elaborate on some previous points, I've been coming up with weird ideas for books for about as long as I can remember. Life without writing stories would honestly be alien to me. And I've been drawing since I could hold a crayon, but have really started taking my art seriously ever since the pandemic started. Currently, I'm teaching myself digital art, and am experimenting with all of the fun things that involves!

My greatest sources of inspiration have to come from good books, great movies, inspirational video games, and creepy dreams. I love the writings of J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Michael O'Brien, Andrew Peterson, and Trent Horn, to name a few authors. Other favorite sources of inspiration are the Resident Evil games and the graphic novel series, Fullmetal Alchemist. I'm also a fan of classic horror films.

It's so awesome to be a part of this writing community! It can feel so lonesome sometimes, and it's easy to think you're the only writer who believes in absolute truths...stay strong, fellow Catholic Authors! Can't wait to read everything you post!
